For me, the pumpkin spice latte is simply a must-have for autumn—that warm, spicy feeling in the cup is like a hug on gray days. I used to treat myself to it occasionally at Starbucks, but eventually I wanted a healthier, sugar-free version that I could enjoy at home without feeling guilty. So I started experimenting—and now here's my favorite recipe for a creamy, aromatic pumpkin spice latte that brings autumn home.

Note for coffee lovers

As you can see from my recipe, I do not have a high-quality coffee machine or portafilter machine, but prepare my “espresso” in my Bialetti (Advertising / Affiliate). Of course, you're welcome to use your fully automatic or portafilter machine to make the espresso and/or froth the milk. Just a reminder that you can also enjoy this coffee experience with simple means and on a budget!

Inspiration for this Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

I was inspired for this Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe by this YouTube video by Patrick Meyer He used to be a barista at Starbucks and supposedly reveals the original recipe in his video—or at least it's said to taste exactly the same!

I made a few adjustments, especially to make the Pumpkin Spice Latte sugar-free. Patrick Meyer also makes an iced pumpkin spice latte in his video, but I prefer my coffee pleasantly warm in the fall. So, I skipped the ice cubes and replaced the sugar with erythritol.

Basic Recipes needed for this Recipe

In this recipe I use four recipes that I have already shared with you on “sizzling & frizzling".

One of the main ingredients for this Pumpkin Spice Latte is of course the Pumpkin Spice Syrup . This creamy pumpkin spice syrup is the perfect base for an autumnal pumpkin spice latte – completely sugar-free! Sweetened condensed milk gives it a subtle caramel note, while erythritol provides sugar-free sweetness. The result is a flavorful, low-carb alternative to the classic Starbucks original.

To make this Pumpkin Spice Syrup you need the following three recipes:

  • Pumpkin Puree: This recipe shows you how to make fresh pumpkin puree in just a few steps – without expensive convenience foods. It's perfect as a base for autumn cakes, bread, or other pumpkin dishes.
  • Sugar-free Sweetened Condensed Milk: This recipe is made with erythritol, making it perfect for a low-carb diet. It's ideal as a base for various sweet recipes, such as syrup for pumpkin spice lattes or creamy ice cream without an ice cream maker. It's easy to prepare and provides a versatile alternative to classic sweetened condensed milk.
  • Pumpkin Spice: Pumpkin spice is the classic American spice blend that instantly adds an autumnal flair to any dish. Blended with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and a pinch of cardamom, it's perfect not only for pumpkin recipes, but also for apple desserts, carrot cake, or a warming pumpkin spice latte.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat it on the stovetop. Don't let it boil, but remove it from the heat as more and more steam builds up. Use a milk frother to froth the milk.

  1. Meanwhile, pour the espresso and pumpkin spice syrup into a small container. If you didn't just make the syrup and espresso, you should reheat them (e.g., for 30 seconds in the microwave).

  1. Pour the frothed milk into your latte macchiato glass and add the pumpkin spice espresso. Finally, sprinkle a pinch of pumpkin spice on top of your pumpkin spice latte for decoration and enjoy.

Remark

Tip:If you suffer from period cramps, it's recommended to avoid caffeine. You can easily make this recipe caffeine-free by using decaffeinated espresso powder for your espresso.

Advertisement (for mentioning the brand name, I purchasedd the product myself): I prefer to use the espresso powder from No Coffee – because they don't use potentially harmful chemicals to decaffeinate their coffee. Just water! And I just really like the taste of their coffee!
